Equipment Lending Program
Submitted By Jim File on Wednesday, June 5, 2013
Equipment Lending Program Offers Girls a Chance to Try the Game of Ringette.

The program is offered to children between the ages of 5-9 who are 1st year beginners in the Skill Development or House League programs.

All participants will be required to sign a promisary note ( see Equipment_Lending_Document) and place a $300 deposit cheque, payable to 'RHRA' and post dated  January 1st, in addition to a $25 rental fee. All cheques are due upon taking possession of the equipment. Upon return of equipment, in a good clean condition, RHRA will destroy your deposit cheque.

All equipment is to be returned in a good clean condition by March 24th, 2019. If the equipment is not returned by March 24th,
RHRA will cash the $300 deposit cheque. If any equipment is missing or *damaged, RHRA will cash the $300 deposit cheque and deduct the cost of any *damaged or missing equipment and then rebate the difference.

*damaged = beyond normal wear and tear and the piece needs to be replaced.

It would be expected that all girls will wear a t-shirt and long underwear or sweat pants under their equipment....it is easier to wash clothes than equipment!

The RHRA Equipment Lending program has been made available thanks to the Ontario Trillium Foundation.
It is a program that we hope will encourage many families to participate in the exciting sport of Ringette in Richmond Hill. The success of this program will be determined by the support and commitment of all who participate. Taking care of the equipment while you are in possession of it and returning it in a good clean condition will ensure the continued success of this program.

Open to Skills, House League, U9 and U10 (Novice) beginners, ages 5 - 9.

RHRA has been offering this program since 2011.  For a modest fee of $25, first year beginner players in the Skill Development and House League can be provided with a full set of equipment for an entire season.  This offers the advantage of trying out the sport without investing several hundreds of dollars in equipment.  The program was started in 2011 when the RHRA received a Trillum grant and purchased fifty sets of equipment. The program has proven to be a big success with families.
