The U12P-Ianni team downed the Whitby Wild 10-5 in the first of 2 weekend games on 3 goal performances from Haleigh Beam and Sydney Stabler with singles coming from Kyla Ciomyk, Ava Ianni, Kailey Howell, and Makayla Nunno. The team followed up with a 5-1 win over the Ajax Shooting Stars thanks to a pair of goals from Kaylin Joy and great goaltending by Haley Zanon.  The U12-Mews team bested the Newmarket Rays 6-2 while the U12-Chamandy team took down the Markham Bears with a 6-1 win.

The 14A-West Team got things going with a 4-2 win over the Mississauga Mustangs at home on Saturday before travelling to St. Catherines on Sunday where they came away with 5-4 win over the Comets.  The U14B-Giordan team travelled to Mississauga where they scored early and often in posting a 9-4 win over the Mustangs.

In U9 play, the Markham Bears posted a 7-2 win over the Lightning’s U9-Applebaum team despite a superb goaltending effort from Nicole Pham.  Sabah Esmail and Kayte Lavoie scored for the Lightning.

The U10-Harling team was in tough against an experienced Whitby Wild team in dropping an 8-6 decision. The team fought hard in this back and forth game with Alexia Himelfarb opening the scoring for the Lightning with one of her two goals. Taryn Joy and Victoria Harling rounded out the scoring with a pair of goals each as well.

In U16 action, the U16AA-Sargeant team travelled to Waterloo where they ended up on the wrong end of a close 5-4 decision against the Wildfire before getting into the win column at home in another close game, this a 7-6 decision over the Mississauga Mustangs thanks to 4 point afternoon from Jada Laliberte (3 goals, 1 assist) and 2 point performances by Hannah Lee (1 goal, 1 assist), Nicole Cannata (2 assists) and Rachael Dickie (2 assits).  The U16A-McKnight team defeated the Ajax Shooting Stars 4-1 at home with Kara Cseh netting 2 goals and singles from Isabel Boni and Megan Malapitan before travelling to Whitby and battling to a 5-5 tie against the Wild.  The U16B-Thompson team travelled to Mississauga and came away with a 4-2 win thanks to a strong performance in goal by Erica Siow.

In U19 play, the U19AA team dropped two road games with a heartbreaker to Waterloo where the Lightning never trailed throughout the contest until the Wildfire took its first lead with 30 seconds remaining and a 6-5 win.  Scoring for the Lightning were Brienne Paterson, Sarah Esmail, Megan Simone, Madison Sandercock, and Alessia Roman.  The team travelled to Guelph the following day where they couldn’t get anything going in a 6-2 loss to the Predators.  The U19A-File team travelled to Burlington where they were bested by the Blast 3-1.

Stephanie Graham played excellent in the Lightning goal keeping the score to only 4 when the Open B-Todd team lost to an experienced Ajax Shooting Stars team 4-0.
