All “A” and “AA” RHRA teams have qualified for 2015 Provincials
Submitted By Scott Thompson on Wednesday, February 25, 2015
Congratulations go out to all our Lightning “A” and “AA” teams who have qualified to participate in the 2015 Provincial Championships.  The provincial rankings have been finalized and each and every one of Richmond Hill’s “A” and “AA” teams qualified to participate.

The U14-Roman, U16-Sarjeant, and U19-Sandercock teams will be heading off to London, Ontario to participate in the “AA” Provincial Championships March 12-15, 2015.  The U14-West, U16-McKnight, and U19-File teams will be heading off to Newmarket, Ontario to participate in the “A” Provincial Championships March 19-22, 2015.

“A” rankings are based on tournament play where teams must play in at least three Ontario Ringette Association (ORA) sanctioned tournaments; one of which must be outside of region.  In the “A” rankings, the U14A-West team was ranked fifth overall and will be playing in the top tier “Jacks” division after posting a 13 win, 4 loss, 3 tie record in five tournaments. The U16A-McKnight Team was ranked fifth overall and will also participate in the top tier “Jacks” division after posting an 11 win, 6 loss, 3 tie record in five tournaments. The U19A-File team ranked ninth overall and will participate in the “McCarthy” division after posting a 9 win, 7 loss, 3 tie record in 5 tournaments.

“AA” rankings are based on the results from one predetermined game between any two given teams regardless of how many times the two teams actually met.  In order to participate in the Provincial Championships, teams must first meet a four tournament requirement where at least two of the tournaments must take place outside of region and in two different regions.  In the “AA” rankings, the U14AA-Roman team ranked fourth after posting a 5 win, 2 loss, 4 tie record in their ranking games.  The U16AA-Sarjeant team ranked seventh with a 4 win, 5 loss, 2 tie record in their ranking games; and the U19AA-Sandercock team ranked seventh with a 3 win, 6 loss, 0 tie record in their ranking games.

The final seeding for teams participating in the 2015 "U12 Petite Provincial Event” being held in Oshawa April 9-12, 2015 has yet to be determined.
