Open B-Todd team win OAIC tournament
The Open B-Todd team had a spectacular weekend going 5 and 0 for the first time this season, and what a time to do so. Playing in the Ontario Adult Invitational Challenge (OAIC) tournament in Niagara Falls, the team posted wins over Woolwich 4-2, Waterloo 3-2, North Dumfries 5-0, and Burlington 5-4 during round robin action.
Facing North Dumfries in the final and with time running out the Lightning were trailing 2-1. It appeared like North Dumfries was about to exact revenge for the 5-0 shut out loss they suffered at the hands of the Lightning during round robin play. However, Meaghan Todd scored on a power play with 27 seconds remaining in regulation time to force overtime.

Erica Ogden netted the winner for the Lightning when she was sent in on a breakaway 1:03 into the extra frame on a beautiful set up orchestrated by Cassie Moscoe and Rachel Cowan.
Leading the way for the Lightning during the tournament was Veronica Peacock with 12 points (7 goals, 5 assists); Erica Ogden with 8 points (6 goals, 2 assists); and Meaghan Todd with 7 points (4 goals, 3 assists). Stephanie Graham was solid in earning the shut out and posting a division best 2.00 goals against average.
A great finish to a successful season.
