RHRA Update
Hello Lightning Family. We hope all of our players, families, coaches, officials and volunteers are staying safe during this very challenging time. We trust that everyone is doing their part to support our community by practicing physical distancing, staying at home and only venturing out for essential trips.
This is a tough time with everyone’s season coming to an abrupt end. It was devastating to those younger players looking forward to their first regional or provincial championship, those playing in their final year, and to everyone else in between. We’re all in this together with our friendships and love of the game to get us through it.
Given the on-going restrictions, we would like to update you on a few items as the situation has forced us to make some unfortunate changes:
- The 2020 RHRA banquet has been cancelled and families that have bought tickets will receive a full refund
- The deadline for 2020-21 coaching applications will be extended for an indefinite period. More information will be provided on this in April
- 2020 Spring Ringette has been cancelled. Families that have paid their Spring Ringette registration fees will be given the option of a credit towards next season or a refund for the full amount
- Tryouts for the 2020-21 RHRA Provincial teams will be rescheduled for later in the Summer or early September depending on the availability of the City of Richmond Hill facilities
Stay strong and follow what is asked of our community. Don’t forget physical activity is important to keep your body and mind healthy and keep you ready for when we return to action. In time, risk will subside and we will together return to the ice. We will play again!
Stay safe Lightning!
