Tryouts 2023-24 Season

RHRA INTENDS* TO HOST THE FOLLOWING PROVINCIAL TEAMS FOR THE 2023-24 SEASON

U14A**, U16A, U19A, U14AA U16AA, U19AA

*RHRA reserves the right to change team offerings up to and including the beginning of the season.

The tryout period can be a stressful period for players, families and coaches. The ultimate goal of tryouts is to place players at their appropriate level of play to field competitive teams.

Please review SRRA Ringette Provincial Tryouts Questions to read more about the tryout process. *All Teams are subject to SRRA Provincial Play Evaluation Committee approval.

ELIGIBILITY 

• All players must be registered with Ringette Ontario for insurance coverage in order to participate in tryouts
• All players must complete the RHRA Tryout Registration Form in advance and acknowledge that both parents/players have read and signed the SRRA Provincial Team Expectations and Consent Form. Required Prior to stepping on the ice. Forms will not be available at the tryouts
• All players must pay in advance for their appropriate Tryout Passport (see below) No walk ons will be accepted
• A player will not be eligible for a position on a RHRA AA or A team unless they have attended at least 1 tryout.
  If a player is unable to attend any tryout dates for a valid reason (i.e. emergency, injury, illness, preplanned travel out of province) but still intends to try out, they must request an exemption, in writing, to the RHRA President (president@rhringette.com) - at least 48 hours prior to the 1st tryout date. Tryout exemption requests will be reviewed by the Tryout Evaluation Committee in consultation with the team head coach

ATTENDING TRYOUTS AT ANOTHER ASSOCIATION

• Players may attend tryouts at any association they choose. A "release to tryout" form is no longer required.
• A "release to play" for another association is required should a player be offered a spot in another association. Ringette Ontario's Athlete Release Form must be signed and completed if all criteria in the Ringette Ontario's Athlete Release Policy has been met.
• A player will not be eligible for a release to play on a different association’s team unless the player has attended RHRA tryouts at the same level.
